This flow of qi protects, nourishes and sustains the organ systems. Disease occurs when there is an imbalance or depletion of the vital energy. The gentle insertion of acupuncture needles in specific points along the meridians, influences, directs and balances the flow of energy, allowing the process of healing to take place naturally.

ABOUT ELLEN

CONTACT

FAQ

09 satori

Classical Five-Element Acupuncture places emphasis on the body, mind and spirit, recognizes the laws of nature and balances the influences of the five elements within the body. Each of the five elements corresponds with one of the five seasons. The energy of the elements and their corresponding season sustain and balance us in different ways. The element of Wood corresponds with Spring, Water with Winter, Earth with Late Summer, Metal with Fall, and Fire with Summer. When we run on the beach in the summer, bundle up in the winter and eat fresh from the garden or farmers market in the late summer we are living in balance with the earths natural rhythms.

Intention of Treatment

Classical Acupuncture teaches that the balance of these five elements is health and imbalance is illness. It is the intention of treatment to re-establish balance, restoring energy to its natural flow and rhythm in the body, mind and spirit, and between the person and the environment.

Classical Acupuncture is equally appropriate for addressing specific physical symptoms of the body, as it is for stress and emotional or mental difficulties.

Classical Acupuncture is preventative as well as restorative and addresses acute as well as chronic health concerns.
